Original Paintings, limited edition prints and digital illustrations by marinelife artist Vincent Hyland

2050 a.d. The Series
I am hugely influenced by the disappearance of Ireland's inner soul, possibly culminating in the loss of our Irish identity. Close to my heart is the loss of aquatic habitat and related biodiversity. In this series of paintings and limited edition prints I hope to raise awareness as to the effects of loss of aquatic biodiversity and the introduction of foreign aquatic species due to global warming and a rise in sea level. As with all things being lost in Ireland, some of the paintings are set amidst the disappearance of the famed Irish local (pub) and indeed local people."

About the Set
(Set 1 Black Shop / Glenbeg / Caherdaniel / Darrynane)
The Blackshop, Glenbeg, Caherdaniel and Darrynane limited edition set is the first in a series and consists of six prints depicting the area in the year 2050 a.d.  Climate change and sea level rise have brought about changes in the area with some places submerged, new beaches formed and exotic species populating the surroundings. And if that is not unusual enough!... What about local people and the pubs and bars of the area? Are they too endangered? Perhaps the next time you are having that pint in Freddies, Bridies, The Black Shop, The Blind Piper or The Beach Bar try not to fall over the marine iguanas, or start talking about Boobie birds... people might think you are crazy... or maybe not!

About the Graphic Art Series
Digitally Illlustrated using Adobe Illustrator these prints are unique. I attended the first ever Illustrator conference at Seybold in San Francisco in 1990. At the time digital illustration was in its infancy. I remember getting a pair of digital prints which at the time were ground breaking i.e. drawn in illustrator v 1.0, and output electronically. I still cherish them to this day. Nowadays, we cannot
imagine life without digital equipment... these prints are as much a celebration of the Iveragh Peninsula's marine life as they are a celebration of what was once electronically groundbreaking.

The Prints . . . Purchase singly, in pairs or the entire set of 4 in either of 2 sizes; A4 framed (46cm x 36cm) and A3 (56cm x 46cm) framed signed, stamped and ready to hang.
